A range of progressive organisations active in providing information on sustainable living, climate and socio-economic change. Find out what needs to be done and what you can do. Meet and talk to individuals who can provide you with the inspiration to make simple adjustments to your lifestyle resulting in subtle changes or full-scale evolution, and to help others to do the same! There will be international NGOs and aid agencies such as Sunrises supported charities: Ecoshelter and SolarAid, which aims to enable the world's poorest people to have clean, renewable power. Ecoshelters workshops include how to build Ecodomes from sandbags filled with earth (see picture), how to build with straw bale, how to make bricks out of mud and how to become part of an Ecoshelter Sustainable Community in the UK. The Earth Circus Network The Earth Circus Network came out of the The Rainbow Earth Circus (T.R.E.C.) project at theOne World Rainbow Centre,Kentish town.in 1995/6. A network of groups and individuals who aimed to raise awareness of environmental and social issues,especially Agenda 21 fromthe Rio Earth Summit 1992. SolarAid SolarAid aims to enable the world's poorest people to have clean, renewable power. Solar power leads to better education, health, safety and income by allowing poor communities to cook, pump water, run fridges, store vaccines, light homes, schools, clinics and businesses, power computers and homes, farm more effectively, and much more. By replacing carbon emitting technologies, solar power can mitigate global warming. SolarAid trains local partner organisations in how to set up solar businesses and build small solar products that they can sell to earn an income.
