Eat StaticEat Static were formed in 1989 by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, then drummer and synth player respectively for the band Ozric Tentacles. They were joined by Steve Everitt, a library musician and occasional Ozric member. The band made a name for themselves on the Megadog/’live’ techno scene of the early ’90s, playing alongside the likes of Orbital, Underworld and Aphex Twin. They were the first signings to Megadog-offshoot Planet Dog records, releasing their debut album ’Abduction’ in 1993. In 1994 Steve Everitt retired from the group’s live performances, though he has continued to collaborate in the studio. Since then the band have played hundreds of gigs worldwide and become one the most respected and spectacular live dance acts around. They have been voted ’Best Dance Act’ in the NME, achieved a top twenty album, headlined the first dance tent at Glastonbury in 1995 and recorded two Peel sessions. Whilst essentially a sci-fi influenced, trance/techno outfit, they have also incorporated drum and bass, breakbeat, latin, garage and ambient styles into their sound at various stages. In the past few years the band have become heavily involved with the psy-trance scene, playing parties and festivals the world over and releasing numerous tracks on trance compilations. www.myspace.com/eatstaticspace |

DymonsDaniel Symons has spent over seven years "on the road" where he gained considerable amounts of musical experience, collected many instruments and quite a soundbank as he travelled most places with a digital tape recorder. He then settled down (a bit) in Switzerland to learn the skills of sound engineering which has resulted in lots of musical creations. Wanting to share his abundant creativity with the rest of the world he decided to create a record label... Elestial Records was born... His mystical nature and deep feeling that "there's much more to reality than we can see" led him to explore different states of consciousness with shamans and medicine men/women from many different parts of the world. He has helped others experience such states and cure themselves by musically accompanying healing ceremonies and rituals (firewalks, trance dances, sweatlodges, etc..). It has also lead him to spend lots of time in nature where much of his creative inspiration comes from. Daniel Symons has played and written music with artists from all over the world and has performed more than a thousand live gigs in over 30 different countries. www.myspace.com/danielsymons |

WidescreenWidescreen are a 3 piece electronic/flamenco world beat act. Originated by the 70's Prog/Classical Guitarist David Clark Allen of Carmen fame last year. Two years ago he asked Larry Lush to co-produce his new album with him as his original work from the 70's was being re-released on Angel Air Records. It was decided the new work should go under a new banner and Widescreen was conceived. When the Album was in the can David asked Larry if he'd like to go on the road with him and here they are. With the band now has a new recruit called Charlotte Medcalf, who is an actor-musician who has worked extensively in the UK, appearing in award winning productions such as Sam Mendes' CABARET , Complicite's STREET OF CROCODILES and David Glass's GORMENGHAST. Her passionate approach to her instrument is electrifying. Their music is a fascinating mix of Classical Spanish Flamenco, Electronic, Mediterranean and eastern European. At times it can seem quite purist but then it magically shifts into the outer-worldly yet always flowing, always remaining exciting and uplifting. www.myspace.com/widescreenband |

Ill AudioThe new band ripping up London venues with its own brand of sleazy electro, dub flavour rock. Hitting hard with an undeniable raw energy, powerful melodies, and a sound that’s louder than a plane crash - musicians from all corners of London have come together to form the collective. Songs with a political message, neo-social commentary, and just out & out, head down crowd rockers. Their rabble rousing electro, adrenaline inducing rock fusion sets them apart from the crowd, smashing both the live music and club scenes. Where man and machine coincide, where technology meets nature, wrapped around each other in a seamless fusion that will stir movement in the most purist of chin-strokers. Created from the notion that there should be no separation between guitars and synths, live drums and machines, because the future is at hand. Disregarding all need for backing tracks used by imitation ‘live’ dance groups, they started using technology in a way that had previously never been done before- and have begun an assault on UK audiences. www.myspace.com/illegalaudio |

JellybassSince the phenomenon of Jellybass started in the summer of 2006, the identities of the creators dubbed 'Lo & Hz' were kept secret; they did not want their previous musical releases or styles to influence listeners in any way. Jellybass was an instant hit among breaks, garage, dubstep and downtempo listeners, and since then Jellybass have release a single on vinyl, an album online, and a free half hour Jellybass mix. The guys behind the monstrous basslines are none other than Chix and Joe. Both are DJ's, both produced and released tunes for a few years before they met up and joined forces, and both REALLY love bass. www.jellybass.co.uk |

BonzePsychedelic funksters ‘BONZE’ are a diverse eruption from the swirling bowels of Kent. A live band consisting of drums, bass, guitar, synths and other assorted electronic contraptions, Bonze have been playing music together since school days. Slowly....slowly the tapestry was woven telling the story of what happens when five devout musical extremists embark on a journey together and happen to stumble upon a sound like no other. The bands first mumblings were heard in the haven of outdoor parties where Bonze gathered a dedicated following. Last summer they were seen on many a festival stage including The Glade and Waveform Project, also getting down and dirty with the city revellers at events such as Little green planet. With their delicate mix of quirky psychedelic electro breakbeat-funk, Bonze are capable of sending a dance floor into irrepressible spasms. www.myspace.com/bonzemusic |

DJ TechnodollyI spend most of the summer months at festivals full of fabulous freaks. You'll usually find me chilling or DJing in a variety of chilled-out spaces or simply spacing out in the chill-out! I will be doing much of the same this year, weather permitting. I'm not much of a fan of flipping around in a muddy field with a bottle of White Lightning, those days are long gone. I also help organise a delightfully psychedelic club-night in the North, Kulu in Bradford, every month From September to June. We fill a brilliant three floor venue with colour, light and sound. Psy-trance, chillout and upbeat world music, from 10pm until 6am. Amazing DJs, VJs, musicians and Decor-Artists from all over the country and beyond. Creating a journey for all the senses. Kulu will be celebrated its 9th birthday in March this year :D Hope to see you there shaking your thing in the future! www.myspace.com/technodolly |

Bez 23Bez23 started DJing in 1992, after discovering that he could compile ’tripping tapes’ much more fluidly by using two record players and a mixer. Involved in the free party scene since the early ’90s promoting trance, then Goa, then Psytrance parties. Bez23 currently organises the chill-space for Bradford night ’Kulu’ where he is also a psytrance resident. Summer 2008 will be the third year Bez23 has organised the chill-out space for northern festival ’Shamania’ as ’Synchronistic Sounds’ - a collaboration with good friend Si Splatt from Leeds psytrance night Cabbage. At Hawkfest 2007, Bez played psychedelic electronic music inbetween the bands on the ’Strangeness’ stage, and enjoyed it so much he almost burst. Hawkwind rocked his world in a BIG way :). His ’bonkers’ style of hard, mind zorching, face melting psytrance is becoming increasingly unpopular ;) Bez23 maintains that this music is outstandingly psychedelic, and therefore probably very good for you. Sometimes, Bez23 writes about himself in the third person, which he finds both bizarre and mildly entertaining. www.myspace.com/bez23dorje |
